Madonna Louise Circcone Ritchie is a world famous pop icon. Madonna grew up in Michigan where she started to pursue dancing. She received a dance scholarship to the University of Michigan but left school in 1977 to pursue dancing in New York City. Through her dance career she met Dan Gilroy with whom she started her first rock band, the Breakfast Club. She signed in 1982 with Sire Records with whom she released her first single “Everybody” and her debut album Madonna. Her second album, Like a Virgin was her first number one album. Her other pursuits include involvement in dozens of movies and modeling for H&M.
